Embracing digital transformation, Apayao State College has unveiled a suite of four homegrown information systems designed to streamline its administrative and academic operations, marked by the recent launch of the βASC Integrated Information Systems: Empowering Students, Faculty, and Services through Smarter Systemsβ on May 27 held at EKB Multipurpose Building, ASC Main Extension Campus, Conner.
These homegrown innovations were developed by the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Unit and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) faculty and students.
HRMS hits the ground running with the attendance tracker
The soft launch begins with the attendance monitoring feature, introducing a precise and user-friendly way to track employee time. Upcoming features will integrate employee records, payroll, leave, and performance tracking, streamlining HR operations throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
The system was developed by the ASC ICT Unit, led by Chief Information Officer Magilyn A. Racacho. The development team includes Information Systems Analysts Roderick O. Torrado and Warner Follo; Computer Programmers Isagani R. Tabangay and Aldrin N. Talay βa former IT faculty member; ICT Specialist Mark Valentine C. Vicerra; Multimedia Support Specialist Albert Hope Guillermo; and ICT Operations Technician Dan Erick Mapa.
From clutter to control: supply office gets a PPE in check
A new digital system for Property, Plant, and Equipment (PPE) management is set for deployment, offering a smarter way to log and track PPE transactions within the Supply Office.
Developed by Instructor Darwin G. Raralio, the system functions as a digital logbook equipped with categorized inventory tabs, property cards with custodianship records, turnaround time reporting, and printable PPE stickers βenhancing accountability and operational efficiency.
Online Document Request Portal (Capstone Project)
BSIT students Christopher Molina, William Harry Agarpao, and Joarryluz D. Agorilla, guided by Associate Professors Racacho, Imelda Taguiam, Computer Programmer Talay, and collaborating with the ASC ICT Unit, have brought their capstone project to fruition: a system designed to put document requests at studentsβ and alumniβs fingertips.
With real-time tracking, secure online payments, and a fully paperless process, this system promises to transform the often-tedious task of securing school documents into a hassle-free experience.
Raising the beat: Faculty PULSE (Performance Upgrade through Logistic Support for Excellence)
The Faculty PULSE (Performance Upgrade through Logistic Support for Excellence) was developed by Assoc. Profs. Racacho, Taguiam, Cheryl F. Olvida, and Computer Programmer Talay in collaboration with the ASC ICT Unit.
The system provides students with a user-friendly, accessible, and fair way to deliver constructive, real-time feedback on faculty teaching performance.
Through the development and launch of four homegrown digital systems, ASC President Dr. John N. Cabansag reaffirmed the Collegeβs commitment to technological advancement, addressing the diverse needs of its faculty, students, and administrative personnel.
